Boris Kasyanov is an independent artist from Novosibirsk. He lives most of his life in a small scientific suburb of Novosibirsk, called Academgorodok.
In his works he is trying to transfer to the canvas a bit of sad, low and high or even nostalgic mood which can be cast by real and unreal, realized and unrealized events, meetings, trips to different towns, exhibitions. The spirit and impression obtained from them help him in maintaining his own style of painting. The main creative sources that inspire him most of all are music, architecture, installation, performance and painting. He says that it is their spirit rather then there style that makes them close to him. His works are distinguished by some pretentiousness of perspective and so-called deformation of usual forms and contours.
